Since chess is a fun game to play with/against anyone you know, it’s always a great idea to have access to chess opponents, and chess tournaments are the ideal spot for this. Not only do they deliver a great way for people to play against real opponents (not just online-only players), but it’s also an exciting and rewarding opportunity to face players of varied skill levels.
Why do we provide free tournaments for chess lovers?
Chess is embedded deep into our DNA, and we know there are lots of children out there who have the same passion we do. That’s why we want to help with their development, while offering an organized medium where they can improve their skills and face real players. Our tournaments are unique because they are USCF-rated, and they take place every month.
Not only that, but if you enroll in one of our tournaments (you can register here), you get to compete against like-minded people. You find people with varied skill levels, ranging from beginners to highly skilled. That way, you won’t have a problem finding the right opponent for your next match. We encourage fairness, fair play, and learning; that’s why all available spots are filled very quickly every month.
Aside from being able to compete in these events, you also have the opportunity to win various prizes. We always try to provide some great prizes every month, ranging from scholarships to a variety of other things. We believe it’s important to keep the competition alive, and that’s what makes it such an interesting and distinctive experience.
Who can participate in these free tournaments?
Our tournaments take place in SoCal, mostly Los Angeles County, Riverside and Orange County. However, we have people from many regions that secure their spot and come in to compete, and we are always open to having any chess lover join our competition. It’s very important for us to give Inland Empire players a way to compete and improve their skill levels. However, everyone is invited, and if you like chess, you’ll feel right at home here!
We are committed to equity and community outreach!
Everyone who enjoys playing chess is more than welcome to access any of our organization’s services. Whether you want to connect with other chess players, you want to learn, or test out your current skills, this is the best place for you. We have a true commitment to offering everyone direct access to amazing, fun, and enjoyable moments in the world of chess. At the same time, we have a true commitment to coaching and assisting those who love chess and want to get better and better at it.
Accessing Casual Play experiences
One of the great things about chess is that you can always improve, through constant practice. That’s why we think it’s important to bring the community together. Everyone should have access to chess, and that’s why we host Wednesday and Friday Casual Play events every week.
We believe it’s important for the community to know that there’s always a time when everyone can gather, play against one another, and learn some important lessons. Our Casual Play events take place every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, but also the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Everyone can reserve a spot for Casual Play right now.
You don’t need to have a certain skill level to attend these events. We have groups for each skill level, so you can easily find someone to play against. And since we want as many kids as possible to play, there are plenty of beginners in these events, so everyone can have a fun time exploring, learning, and playing chess at their own pace. It’s friendly competition at its finest, and everyone can improve their skills along the way as well.
