Day & Knight Chess Club Terms & conditions

By submitting registration for the Day & Knight Chess Club program, you agree to release and hold harmless Day & Knight Chess Club, its instructors, agents, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, including but not limited to those arising from ordinary negligence, for any damage, loss, injury, or harm to any person or property that may occur during or as a result of participation in the program.

This waiver applies to any incidents occurring during program activities, including but not limited to classes, tournaments, and transportation, until the student is released into the care of the responsible party. Participants and their guardians acknowledge that they voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the program and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Day & Knight Chess Club and its representatives from any claims arising from such participation.

This release does not extend to gross negligence or willful misconduct. By registering, you confirm your understanding and acceptance of these terms.

Refunds are not provided after the first class or after the first class credit has been used for subscription-based memberships. We do not prorate or issue refunds for missed classes, excused absences, or unused credits.

For subscription-based memberships, cancellations are allowed at any time, but no refunds will be issued for any unused portion of the subscription period after a class credit has been used. Students are encouraged to use their remaining credits before the subscription ends.

Please note that Day & Knight Chess Club reviews the previous topic in each class session, ensuring students have opportunities to reinforce and catch up on missed material. This policy helps us maintain fairness and consistency for all participants.

After-School Programs

Parents are not required to drop off their child for after-school chess classes. Students are expected to go directly to the chess class after school dismissal. Once the class is finished, parents have the following options:

• Pick up their student from the chess class.
• Allow their student to go to daycare.
• Permit their student to walk home (parental authorization required).

Academy Classes

For academy classes held outside of school hours, parents are required to drop off and pick up their child on time. It is important to ensure your child is not dropped off earlier than 10 minutes before class begins and is picked up promptly at the scheduled end time.

Responsibility Disclaimer

Day & Knight Chess Club is responsible for students only during scheduled class times. We are not responsible for students before the designated start time or after they are released from class. Parents assume full responsibility for their child's safety outside of the scheduled class period.

By registering for our programs, you agree to adhere to these policies.

Students are expected to conduct themselves in chess classes with the same level of respect and attentiveness required in their regular school classrooms. Day & Knight Chess Club is committed to fostering a fun, engaging, and positive learning environment where all students can develop their skills and passion for chess.

To ensure this, students must:

• Show respect to instructors, peers, and the learning process.
• Refrain from disruptive, inappropriate, or excessively interruptive behavior.
• Actively participate and contribute to a supportive classroom atmosphere.

While we encourage students to enjoy themselves and explore their enthusiasm for chess, disruptive behavior that interferes with the learning experience of others will not be tolerated. Day & Knight Chess Club reserves the right to dismiss any student from the program without a refund if their behavior consistently disrupts the class or violates these expectations.

By enrolling in our programs, students and parents agree to abide by this policy.

To help students reinforce and retain the knowledge gained in our lessons, Day & Knight Chess Club provides in-class handouts specifically designed to complement each lesson’s topic. These handouts serve as valuable resources for practice and review, helping students build a deeper understanding of the concepts covered.

Completion of Handouts

• Completing the handouts is optional, but highly encouraged.
• We recommend that students work on their handouts independently to develop their problem-solving skills. Parental assistance should be limited to encouragement and guidance, allowing students to take ownership of their learning.

Review Process

• At the beginning of each class, we will review the previous topic and address common mistakes, ensuring students have the opportunity to correct misunderstandings and improve.
• Parents are welcome to follow along with the corrections to support their child’s learning and engage with the material at home.

Organizational Tips

• Students are encouraged to bring a dedicated “chess folder” to keep their handouts organized and easily accessible.
• This folder will serve as a personalized resource for students to track their progress and revisit previous lessons as needed.

By incorporating handouts and review into our program, we aim to create a comprehensive learning experience that empowers students to succeed both in class and beyond.

Day & Knight Chess Club reserves the right to capture photos and videos during classes and events to celebrate student achievements and promote our programs. These moments may be shared on our official social media platforms, including Instagram (@dayknightchess) and Facebook (@dayknightchess), as well as on our website (dayknightchess.com).

We strive to showcase the positive and engaging environment of our club while respecting the privacy and dignity of all participants. By enrolling in our programs, you acknowledge and agree to the use of these images or videos for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes.
